ALGONKIN EGG
Some of Algonkin tribe are practitioners of Midewiwin (the right path). The spiririts (Manitok) of the natural world surround them. The Midewiwin is a is a secret religion know to some tribes in North America. A Midew, or shaman, must go through many trials, by degree, to reach the most honorable status of 9th degree.
This piece comes from an elder Midew of the Ninth degree. The Shaman blessed and called down upon the spirits during a Jiisakiiwin (Shaking tent)—ceremony. This is a ceremony conducted by a Jiisakiiwin Shaking Tent Seer who does enter the tent to conjure spirits and speak beyond this world. The magic on this piece allows for all of your questions to be answered with purity. When the time is right, the white spirits will also guide you to leave your body gently so that so you may reach a heavenly state.
The Algonkin egg is in turquoise with a sterling silver clasp.
