Powers from a Middle Ages Wizard
Powers from a Middle Ages Wizard

I had this friend in high school. His name was Alex. Over the four years that encompassed our high school career, Alex and I actually became pretty good friends. You know how high school friendships can be though. I moved away to college and so did he—well, at least I though he did. Apparently he didn’t, because when I moved back to my hometown after flunking out of college miserably (the first time, anyhow), I met Alex at a local 24 hour diner.

It crossed my mind a time or two that Alex hadn’t really aged much since the last time I saw him. I mean it had only been about three years, but most people age a little bit, don’t they? After that night at the diner, I hadn’t seen Alex four an additional 4 years, until our 7 year high school reunion party. He still hadn’t aged… at all. He still looked like the same person that I had met in 9th grade in Earth Science class. I began to become curious.

I looked him up on Facebook, but I couldn’t find a trace of him. He wasn’t even on MySpace. He wasn’t even in the phone book. I couldn’t even Google his name. Not that I’m a stalker or anything, but it just seemed peculiar. Finally, I set out on a quest to find Alex and ask him directly what his secret was. I sat at the diner every day for a week, until he finally strolled in on a Wednesday evening.

When he saw me, he immediately made his way over, asking if I minded if he joined me. Did I mind? I had spent the last week tracking him down. As he sat, I made eye contact with Alex. It was just for a second, but in that second I knew. I knew that there was something about him… something that I hadn’t noticed all of these past years. We ordered our meal and ate in silence. Alex had obviously noticed what I had noticed, too. After we were done eating, Alex invited me to come with him… so I followed.

When we were outside of the diner, Alex offered to drive and I didn’t refuse; so here we were driving through woods and fields in the middle of nowhere not saying a word to each other. Then, he came out with it. The confession that I had wanted to hear, but was too ashamed to ask. He told me that ever since the Middle Ages he had been a wizard, but it wasn’t until recently that he achieved his immortality. In fact, it was right before his “freshman” year in high school. He was reverted to his youth and in his youth he will always stay.

He proceeded to explain that he had been keeping a low profile so that way no one would notice that he wasn’t changing like everyone else. He said he had known that I was searching for him—that he could feel it. Then he told me that he was going to have to move away a start over somewhere new. As a token for the friendship (and really to prove that he was exaggerating, because I look awestricken), he gave me this necklace.

The necklace is a pretty old piece. It shows four figures of different beings that you can twist to mix and match. He told me to wait until the next full moon. At this time I was to take the piece outside with me, let it soak up the moon rays and wait to see what happens. I’m not one to turn down an experience, so I did as he told me.

When I did, the piece began to glow, even as a I wore it around my neck. It didn’t burn or anything—it just glowed. The three pieces that the necklace is made up of began to turn slowly in opposite directions. As they did, I was filled with a divination that had been transposed into the piece. My whole beings was transformed into spiritual form and I was given the ability to transmogrify my into any form that I chose to take. I was also able to see all the other spirits that existed around me… in plain sight as if they were an actual physical part of our mortal realm.

After the first full moon, after the piece had its time to bond with me, I also gained full wizard powers from Alex. However, I have no need for this piece and rather keep the necklace and not get any use out of it, I’d rather see someone put it to good use. The best memories with Alex will remain with me… material possession are merely possessions. This piece, and all of its powers, are now up for offer for one of my valuable clients!
