In the ancient myths and legends of the Norsemen, there are many stories of warriors known as Berserkers. They were a select group of elite warriors famous through out the ancient world for their savagery and primal fury in battle. They feared no man, showed no signs of feeling pain, never surrendered, and tended to be much stronger than even the strongest of regular norse warriors. <br /><br />

When getting ready to go into battle, these warriors would dress themselves in the skins of bears or wolves. Besides there outright savagery in battle, what set the Berserkers apart from your average norseman was the fact that they never wore armor, only the animal skin. In some historic scandinavian battles there was said to be sightings of berserkers actually changing form in the middle of battle, turning into the very beasts they rivaled in ferocity. <br /><br />

On investigation in scandinavia we came across this piece while roaming around some of the beautiful countryside. While wearing it one noticed a sudden spike in strength and adrenaline. A sudden primal feeling comes over the wearer, and suddenly one feels fearless and ready to take on whatever is thrown at them. Through further investigation of the piece, we found that these enchanted items were common amongst the berserkers. The pieces were bestowed with the spirits of the animals the berserkers themselves were trying to imitate by pagan warlocks. It was considered the closest thing to becoming an actual werewolf as one could get without a permanent curse. <br /><br />
