The Secret of Petra
This piece comes from a place that is so old that is dubbed the city that is “half as old as time.” A correspondent of mine found this pieces while on a tour of the city. The city itself was carved entirely of stone and was once an economical epicenter of the ancient world. It has since undergone some massive changes and eventually became abandoned because of flooding problems, invasion, war, etc.
Anyway, the ancient city I am talking about is Petra. If you don't know what Petra is thanks to Monty Python, allow me to elaborate. Fast forward a whole bunch of years and Petra is now Jordan's number one tourist attraction. The all stone buildings are up for exhibit and the only way to reach them is by donkey, camel, or foot.
Visiting Petra is a breathtaking experience, at the very least. However, this piece that I am about to offer you is even more breath taking, in that is has a raw form of magic that will give you a very special gift. You see rumor has it that atop the the Al-Khazneh, or treasury building, there is a special urn that holds a pharaoh's secret treasure. Following gut instinct and her ability to pick up on virtually any magic vibe anywhere, she was able to locate a secret chamber in the Treasury Building. When she did so, she was overwhelmed with a feeling that she could only describe to me as joy-- and for very good cause.
You see, what she had stumbled upon was a chamber used for diving all the money and resources. This is the very room that the money was blessed and counted and profit allotted. Not a lot of people know about this room today, because even fewer people knew about it back then. This room was kept strictly private and off limits because the officials in Petra didn't want anyone to know that the booming success of their city was thanks to a magic that they had discovered deep in the heart of the sandstone the city was carved out of.
There is no hiding things from someone with an ability as keen as the one this particular correspondent had and she was able to pick up on it right away. She was also able to break away from the crowd of tourists long enough to reenter the Treasury Building to capture some of the powers from the sandstone wall. I mean, it would be virtually impossible to suck all of the power out of it, because there is an overwhelming amount of magical ability in the sandstone.
